Callie, you and your group had a really thought-out, well-organized podcast. To begin, I was a big fan of how you guys explained what the podcast was going to include at the very beginning so the audience had an idea of what was coming. I liked that you decided to read the summary of the book because I was able to get an idea of the book before jumping into the podcast. It was also a smart idea to include that there were going to be spoilers, I wish I would have thought to say that during my group’s podcast. I thought it was great how you all touched on reading strategies, discussed how the book club went, and different teaching perspectives. There was a lot of honestly towards the end that discussed whether or not you guys would assign this to your classes which I really appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYou and your group did a great job at explaining at how both math and science are incorporated throughout the book. As a science area of emphasis, I could definitely have this book as an option for a book club because it relates to astronomy which is a big topic for several middle grades science standards. I can use this book in my science classroom to improve literacy skills while learning and staying connected to science. Thank you (and your group) for an awesome podcast!
